Pets can be at the heart of any family and, just as you wouldn’t want to leave a child behind, a trip away just isn’t the same without the dog in tow. This is especially true if you’ve chosen a holiday that makes the most of the great outdoors. At Johanna Seaside Cottages, all our holiday homes are truly pet-friendly — but what does that really mean?
Safe And Sound
If you have a young pet or one with a skittish nature, you and they need to be able to relax on holiday. That’s why all our holiday homes come with fenced yards. You can relax knowing your dog is safe and secure; it will have its own territory and a nice place to stay, play and run around.
Pet-friendly accommodation needs to be self-contained so that you can relax without worrying that your pet will escape into an unfamiliar environment. Johanna Seaside Cottages, with their fenced gardens and pet friendly interiors, are within easy reach of the beach and our heated indoor pool. You can leave your pet at the cottage when you’re off swimming or having a romantic walk on the beach.
However large your party, you can be sure we have room for your pet, too. With cottages accommodating couples and families of 4-8 people, you can choose a place to stay just off the Great Ocean Road that fits your family like a glove. For larger groups, our farmhouse sleeps up to ten, plus your pet.
Despite offering spacious accommodation, our cottages make cleaning up after your pet simple. Architect-designed for modern living, our hardwood floors and open plan spaces make cleaning up muddy paw prints a breeze. After a hard day’s walking, you can curl up with your pet in front of a roaring log fire.
Our newer holiday cottages have been thoughtfully designed with you and your pet’s comfort in mind. With laundry, linen and BBQ facilities, we have all you need to keep your whole family in the lap of luxury. Most of our homes have been furnished with pets in mind, so we have wipe-clean leather sofas and upholstery that doesn’t attract pet hair.
Make the most of your Great Ocean Road Accommodation by using our cottages as a base. We’re just off the Great Ocean Walk and there are plenty of fantastic day hikes that you can enjoy with your pet.
There are also some areas you can’t take dogs to, for example Port Campbell National Park, but plenty where you can, both on and off leash. Some of our favourites are Bay of Islands Coastal Park, Peterborough Township, Camperdown Timboon Coast to Crater Rail Trail (all 34km of it!), and Princetown Recreation Reserve. We are happy to provide details of any pet restrictions on walks you may be planning.
As a pet-friendly holiday company, you can also enjoy the good life on our organic farm. Enjoy organic veggies, freshly laid eggs and the fabulous Johanna beach, all with your four-legged friend at your side.
