The Queenscliff Music Festival is an annual multi-day festival featuring iconic Australian and international musicians, emerging musical talent, and food and fun for the whole family. The festival is held in the historic small town of Queenscliff, in the park around Point Lonsdale Lighthouse. Queenscliff itself is a charming community with Victorian-style architecture, antique stores and many great eateries. This festival on the seafront is bursting with a huge range of contemporary musicians. No matter your age or tastes, you are sure to find some artists you’ll love.
The QMF experience
The Queenscliff Music Festival was founded in 1997, and it still has a relaxed and joyous atmosphere without the crush of oversized crowds. It always features an eclectic mix of musical talent with fantastic venues and fun, appreciative audiences. The area is beautiful and the people are relaxed and friendly. There are multiple tent venues as well as music at various buildings—pubs, halls and restaurants—around town. The breadth of musical styles featured means as you meander, you can have good music, great food and fantastic company everywhere you go. This is your cure for any lingering winter blues, and it’s a wonderful experience whether you visit once or return year after year.
Australia has many premier music festivals, and the QMF is one of the best. While there are fine accommodations in Queenscliff, the popularity of the festival means that they will most likely be full up. If you don’t want to camp in a tent on the grounds, you’re going to have to look a little further afield.
